Sizing Information
It
is important to find the proper fit for your FurFriend (or yourself).
The ideal necklace should fit loosely around your Friend's neck
and rest just above the shoulders. This will allow your pet to wear
it comfortably and it won't interfere with a collar and leash. It
shouldn't be tight around their neck or hang so loose that a paw
can get caught or it falls off if they look down.
To
find your pet's correct size, measure loosely around the neck. When
in doubt, go up in size.
- All
beaded, macho and bronze styles come in sizes 8"-24"
in .5 inch increments. Special sizes are available upon request.
There are two styles of clasps available. The larger sizes (over
11") come standard with the "dog" clasp. The smaller
sizes (11" and under) come standard with a magnetic clasp.
This style works as a "break-away" clasp for cats. For
further information on clasps and converting jewelry to "human"
styles, please see below.
- Chain
styles come in sizes 8"-24" in 1 inch increments. The
clasps are the same as above, and the "dog" style has
2" adjustable end length. Special sizes are also available.
Special
fitting needs:
Cats:
The average cat size is 10-11". Very small cats may need
a size 8-9". Cats should always wear styles with a magnetic
clasp. Because of a cats active lifestyle and tendency to climb,
necklaces and collars need the ability to "break-away"
if they should get caught on something. Note: This does not mean
that the necklace will actually break. The magnetic clasp will
simply come open and fall off the cat. Just locate the necklace
and replace on neck. If your cat goes outdoors, you may want to
remove the necklace before letting him out. Your cat is more likely
to get caught on things outside and you may not be able to locate
the necklace. I am currently looking into an even stronger magnetic
clasp that may be appropriate for outdoor cats. I will keep you
updated.
Humans:
Humans look wonderful in Loo-C creations. You can even get a matching
set with your FurFriend. A choker style is generally 14".
For other lengths, see drawing below. You can leave the "dog"
clasp or have it converted to a magnetic clasp or "human"
lobster clasp style (see photo). Converting the clasp will add
$2.00 to the price. An 8-10" necklace makes a great ankle
bracelet. You can leave the magnetic clasp or convert to a "human
clasp" style. Bracelets are generally 7" long. An 8"
size would work as a loose bracelet in most cases. You can also
double up a 14-16" length as a bracelet. And, of course,
I can make custom styles and sizes.

Macho
and Bronze Styles:
In the macho/masculine styles, the natural materials are very
light weight. They are ideal for the "macho" cat. The
bronze chokers are fairly heavy. They may not be appropriate for
a cat or a small/delicate dog.
Clasp
Details:
The
"dog" style clasp (see picture below) is appropriate
for any dog or human. It is secure and easy to use.
The magnetic clasp is appropriate for cats and humans. It is the
only clasp appropriate for cats. It is very easy to use
and very strong. It may also be used for dogs, if they only wear
it indoors or with a harness or Halti when going outside. If worn
with a traditional collar and leash, the magnetic clasp may "stick"
to the steel hardware and come loose.
The "human" lobster clasp can easily be put on any of
the necklace styles available. See the Human section above.
Customizing:
Custom sizing is available in all styles. I would be happy to
create a custom design, specifically for your favorite FurFriend!
I can also re-size instock items to fit. Most items can be quickly
sized down for a $6.00 additional fee. Most items can be sized
up 2-3" by adding a length of chain for the clasp to attach
to. The fee is $3.00 per inch to adjust up. If an item needs to
be restrung, the fee will be determined at the time of sale. I
can also recreate a style, provided I have the beads in stock.
There is no additional fee for this, the price of the necklace
will be determined by the style/length.
